What's New in Apple's iOS 8?

iOS 8 is the biggest iOS release ever, though you find most apps in iOS8 are so similar, even identical to those you are using in iOS 7. But some new features, functions and tricks are hidden in these iOS 8 versions of your best-loved apps. When using the iOS 8, you may be pleasantly surprised at first, and becomes totally indispensable to it before you know it and master it. Let me show you some of the things iOS can do for you better.

Messages
In iOS 8, Messages has fun, useful, even amazing features that you can hardly imagine. Messages in iOS 8 enable you to capture any sound, like your voice, a big laugh, or a song, and add it to your conversation. With it, you can quickly and easily send videos and photos to the person you are talking to as well. If needed, you can start a group chat to include who you want, drop who you don't, and leave the chat whenever you want. If your chat partner has location shared, you can see the message thread on the map.

Camera
With the new iOS 8 Photos app, you can easily find, edit and share your photos whenever and wherever. You may notice a new mode comes to Camera: Time-lapse videos. Put your thumb on the screen and keep swiping to the right, the horizontal slide is at the bottom. You'll see the Time-lapse after the Slo-Mo setting. The result is a video showing an accelerated sequence of the photos over time. Another welcome addition is smart adjustments. That is, you can modify the overall light or color in a photo with a simple control--slide vertical exposure slider, next to the focus box, up and down, to make your shot brighter or darker.

Safari
iOS 8 tackles some of the iOS web browser's most annoying quirks. This new trick saves you a couple of taps. You can see all your open web pages, with tabs from the same site grouped together. There is also a new sidebar that slides out to reveal your bookmarks, reading list, and shared links. iOS 8's Safari enables us to request a full, desktop version of a site, just by tapping Safari's address bar while browsing a mobile site, then it will come up with the desktop option.

QuickType
iOS 8 brings us the smartest keyboard ever. As you type, you'll see choices of words or phrases you'd probably type next, based on your past conversations and writing style. It can obviously speed up your typing. Moreover, when you're typing a message or an email, iOS 8 will take into account the casual writing style and language you use in Messages and Mail and adjust the choices of words according to the person you're communicating with.

Battery Management
"My iPhone is dying so fast", this may frustrate you a lot. You want to see what apps are killing your phone so quickly? Now, let's do it. Go into Setting > General > Usage. All your apps will be listed, ranking in descending order, the greatest battery consumer is at the top. If you want to see your battery usage around the last week, you can move the slider at the top.

Family Sharing
If your parents are blaming you for wasting too much money on purchases from App Store, here is a good way for you to appease them. Family Sharing is a new way to make your family's digital life harmonious. Your family members, up to six, can share purchases from the App Store, iTunes and iBooks without sharing extra accounts. Once you set up Family Sharing, the other family members can access to and download each other's books, apps and so on.

Reading the above new functions introduced on iOS 8, it will be not difficult for you to find that iOS 8 is really fantastic and its usage is very humanization. Have you already mastered it?
